A Chihuahua puppy named TurboRoo was born without front legs, but company 3dyn gave him the opportunity to live a full life.
Dogs with limb defects are often born and more often than not, owners choose to put the animal to sleep. In TurboRoo’s case, his owners decided to do something to help the poor dog by sharing his story on the internet. They got a lot of reactions and words of support, but what they needed was practical action.
The cute puppy came to the attention of the company 3dyn. The company’s 3D designer developed a model of a cart for TurboRoo, and the technicians began printing the model out on a 3D printer and assembling the finished cart. The designed device was handed over to the owners of the Chihuahuas, who were happy to try out the know-how of the technicians.
TurboRoo got the hang of the cart pretty quickly and is now no different in activity from its counterparts. This is not the first time that 3D printers have saved the lives of not only animals, but humans as well.
However, replacing the front limbs for a dog was done for the first time, which gives hope for the lives of many puppies with defects for a full and happy life.
